Join us for a spring haiku experience at the North Carolina Botanical Garden. This is our fifth collaboration with NCBG.
When: Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 11:30 to 12:30. Bring your lunch and picnic after.
Where: North Carolina Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill.
What’s Going On? NCHS members Bob Moyer and Dave Russo will give a one-hour haiku workshop. We’ll begin with simple approaches to writing haiku, then we’ll compose haiku-like poems based on words and images from the audience. The goal is to give you an experience of what it is like to start with an image and create a haiku from it. Here are some photos from a similiar workshop we did last fall, although today’s session won’t include a walk.
There is so much more to haiku than the famous 5-7-5 syllable count. Come find out what these little poems have to offer!
Cost: Free, but NCBG would like for you to register for this workshop.
Registering helps NCBG track attendance for their events, which is important for planning and funding. To register, please go to their Classes and Workshops page. Then follow the instructions in the right sidebar on that page.
