NCHS member Crystal Simone Smith will be the next president of The Haiku Society of America. Crystal is the second HSA president from the Old North State–the first being you-know-who.
Crystal’s latest collection of haiku and tanka, Runagate, Songs of the Freedom Bound, is forthcoming from Duke University Press in May of 2025.
