New Books from Moore & Simone Smith

written by Dave Russo

Lenard D. Moore, Executive Chairman of the North Carolina Haiku Society, has a new collection of tanka and haibun organized around the four elements: earth, wind, fire and water. Long Rain is available from Wet Cement Press. The book includes an Introduction by Guy Davenport, the American writer, translator, illustrator, painter, intellectual, and teacher.

2021 is a red letter year for NCHS member Crystal Simone Smith. Her new poetry collection, Down to Earth, is available from Longleaf Press. She’ll be one of four featured readers at the Two Autumns reading hosted by the Haiku Society of Northern California. And she has three poems in the July/August 2021 issue of Poetry magazine.

Congratulations, Lenard and Crystal!
