Roberta Beary Wins Two Touchstone Awards

by Dave Russo

Special congratulations to Roberta Beary, who won two Touchstone Awards this year!

Her haibun, “Grief, the Uncut Version,” won the 2024 Touchstone Award for Individual Haibun. Her haiku collection, Carousel, earned Honorable Mention in the Touchstone Distinguished Books Award.

Carousel, a collection of haiku by Roberta Beary, is available from Snapshot Press.

“Masterfully weaving haiku moments into a compelling narrative, Carousel captures the arcs of family relationships through flashes of insight that flare in our memories. Like Beary’s The Unworn Necklace, it is a book to read again and again.” —Timothy Green, Editor, Rattle

See the Snapshot Press website for more about this long-awaited book.

One haiku in this collection is dedicated to Lenard D. Moore, based on Lenard’s visit to the Towpath haiku group for poets of the Chesapeake Watershed.

Roberta is a longtime, remote member of the North Carolina Haiku Society. Here she is at Haiku Holiday in 2011.
