The North Carolina Haiku Society met at Eric Pedersen’s lakeside home near Hillsborough on a rainy Sunday in October of 2025. Our guest presenter was Paru Timilsina, a Nepalese painter, who gave a presentation about haiku in Nepal. Crystal Simone Smith, president of the Haiku Society of America, gave a brief talk about her experiences at Haiku North America in San Francisco. We reconnected with fellow poets, shared haiku and related poems, and caught up on haiku news, current projects, and recent book launches.
